CHOCOLATE! for Lovers and Others
Who: Teens: Grades 7-12
Date: Tuesday, February 12

Registration required, beginning January 28.
If you love chocolate, this is the program for you. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, too! Dip chocolates, mold chocolates, eat chocolates - we’ll do it all. We’ll also play some chocolate-related games. Three guesses what the winners get to take home!

ANIME CLUB
Who: Teens: Grades 7-12
Date: Tuesday, March 4, April 1, May 6
Time: 7:00-8:30 P.M.
Where: Friends Room
Topic: Welles-Turner Memorial Library will host an Anime Club for teens who want to discuss (and watch) anime and manga.
No registration required. If you are not yet thirteen, please bring a note signed by your parent/guardian giving you permission to watch movies rated 13+.
Note: Attendees should arrive no earlier than 6:45 p.m. and are expected to abide by the Anime Club rules.

MAGIC THE GATHERING
Who: Teens: Grades 7-12

PAGETURNERS: Teen Book Discussion Group
Who: Students in grades 7-12 who enjoy reading and talking about books
When: Thursdays, February 21, April 24, May 22 (No March meeting)
Time: 3:30-4:45 P.M.
Where: Glastonbury Room
What We're Reading: We're open to suggestions!
Details: Each month, members choose a book to read and discuss at the following meeting. No vocabulary tests or discussions about underlying themes...we just dish about why we liked or didn't like it, what we thought about the characters, and so on. February book: The Burn Jounals by Brent Runyon. Upcoming: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

TAB (Teen Advisory Board)
Who: Teens grades 7-12

Topic: The TAB meets monthly during the school year to discuss programs for teens and to help select materials for the Teen Room.

KNIT & LITknitting.gif

For knitters of all levels. If you don't know how to knit but want to learn, we'll show you how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off, and will also provide ideas for some easy projects. Knitters are also encouraged to informally share titles of books they've enjoyed reading.

Poetry Cafe

Back by request! If you are a poet, here’s a chance to share your poetry with others. And if you just like to listen, that’s fine too! We will also share a few poems by famous Italian poets, as part of the library’s month-long WOW celebration of Italy. Refreshments will be served.

Film Festival
Who: Teens: Grades 7-12
Date: Thursday, May 22

Note:Registration not required to attend, but participants must submit films by the due date.

Does Glastonbury have a future Academy Award-winning actor, writer, or director in its midst? Come to the Teen Film Festival to see for yourself. All videos shown will be written, directed, and produced by area teens in grades 7-12. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.
