These are some commonly-asked questions in the children's department. For more information, see our General Information page.
How can I get a library card?
Children may apply for a library card at any age. A parent must accompany you and present identification with a Glastonbury address.
How long can I take this (book, video, magazine, CD-ROM, tape...) out for?
All items may be taken out for three weeks except for entertainment videos. These go out for one week.
What if the book I want isn't in?
Simple! Ask a librarian to reserve it for you. We'll send you a message when the book comes back in.
What if the library doesn't have the book I want?
Just ask a librarian if she can help you get it from another library.
What if my book is late?
The fine on overdue items is twenty cents a day, except for videos. Entertainment video fines are $2.00 a day. (Ouch! That's a big bite out of your allowance! Try not to be late.)
Can I use my library card in another library?
You sure can! Your card is good at any public library in Connecticut!
Can I return books at another library?
Yes again! Most items can be returned at any public library in Connecticut!
