Summer Reading Program

Rock & Roll & Read Summer Reading 2009 graphicGet read to Rock & Roll & Read! The Summer Reading Game encourages the whole family to "Rock & Roll & Read". Together, you will be trying to form your rock band before August 13. There are many different activities to choose from, so you are sure to find something you like.

Beginning June 19, you may pick up a Summer Reading Booklet to begin the game. (Please be sure to put your name on the cover, as no replacement copies will be available.) Bring the booklet with you each time you visit the library and check in at the summer reading table to record your progress.

A different reading reward may be earned each week as you add another instrument to your rock band. The first reward will be available on June 24. Once a reading reward is available, it may be earned at any time through August 13.

Please take note of sign-up dates listed for each program that requires registration. Telephone registration is accepted for all programs except the reading game and instrument workshop. All phone registrations will be taken only on 652-7718. Glastonbury residents are given priority for all registered programs. Non-residents may register on the date listed if space remains available.

Programs and their descriptions are below. You may also view them in their original format here.

We also have suggestions for readers entering grades K-3 and readers entering grade 4-6. These are only suggestions. You may read any book you like for the summer reading game.
